This course is intended to provide the students with first hand knowledge on the scientific methods of creation, development and management of forest plantations with focus on tropics. The course discuss the historical perspectives of plantations in India, the factors that favor the establishment of forest plantations. It further elaborates on the various dimensions of developing forests plantations in fine tune with the silvicultural characters of each species.
