MBB 514 Plant Genetic Engineering (1+1)
The course is intended to familiarize students with various aspects of plant genetic engineering. The course content include basic principles and methods of recombinant DNA technology, different mechanisms of gene transfer in plants , methods to screen, select and analyze transformed plants and the significance of transgenics in crop improvement. Course also deals with different genetic engineering approaches used for crop improvement and recent advances in plant genetic engineering like the CRISPR/cas mediated genome editing.
